In Which The Doctor Is, Fortunately, Not An Amoeba

Author: [info]nemaline

Summary: Alison  is rather confused about the relationship between the Doctor and the Master.
Author's Notes: So this is all dragonofmemory's fault. I mentioned to her it was Asexuality Awareness Week, she ended up talking me into writing fanfic for it. Shalka!fic, because there can never be enough Shalka!fic. Betaed by the aforementioned enabler: I should have followed a bit more of her advice than I did, but then I came down with a cold, so any remaining flaws are completely the fault of whoever I caught it off.

Knitting Is Not A Language (Except When It Is)

Summary: The Doctor receives a very peculiar message.
Author's Notes: I was in chat, someone started talking about knitting and Doctor/Master, I inadvertently mentioned that I'd written a ficlet like that once. Then they all made me send it them to read. Then they all made me post it. Therefore this is all their fault, as well as the fault of the friend who dared me to write this in the first place. All their fault. It is deeply silly.

Summary: Taking the Master on a tourist trip to a planet called Midnight turns out not to have been one of the Doctor's better ideas.

Author's Notes: So I haven't posted anything in quite a while, have I?

This is the fic that I wrote, ages ago, for the best_enemies  remix challenge. And then all my usual betas mysteriously vanished. And then my laptop died, taking the fic with it, and then my new computer... well, it exploded. Or part of it did, at least. Then there was a long, long period when the entire fic was thought lost forever, and I didn't dare show my face on best_enemies for the shame of it all. I skulked in the shadows and took up knitting. (No, I did. I knitted a Dalek.) And then - glory! A friend of my father's with wonderous computer skills managed to recover a number of files off my dead laptop, including the fic. (And then it turned out that it had been sitting in my email outbox the whole time.)

So here it is, very, very belated. This was done, as I said, for the remix challenge, i.e. to remix a fic written by someone else. This isn't technically a remix so much as a sequel - but it also functions as a remix of Midnight, so two for the price of one.

The original story was Sportsmanship by rhaella , and this story will probably make more sense if you read that first. This was betaed by blackletter , who stepped in (in the middle of exams) to purge my excessive semicolons and generally make it a much better story and so a great deal of thanks.

La Grande Mort (Master's POV)

Author:nemaline
Rating: NC-17
Disclaimer: Doctor Who and all related trademarks are the property of their respective owners, mostly the BBC.
Summary: The Master likes playing games. This one involves the Doctor, a bed and a nuclear bomb.
WARNING: Very, very messed-up and dubious consent, verging on non-con depending on how kindly you interpret it.
Author's Notes: First of all, an important explanation. This story consists of one scene told from two perspectives; the Doctor's and the Master's. Both parts cover exactly the same events, so it doesn't matter which one you read first. Flip a coin!

I'd also like to note that this is, for me, possibly the darkest thing I've ever written - obviously different people will find different things dark, but rereading it certainly makes me wonder where on earth in my head it came from!

This one goes with all my thanks to Tay, for some very much needed support and encouragement, and also to Aya, who accidentally sparked the idea.

Author's Notes: It has been far, far, far too long since I last put something up. I blame this entirely on lack of internet followed by graduation and job interviews and Torchwood, and am very sorry. I should be tidying up my random collection of ficlets and posting them somewhat more often. (If anyone has any particular things/genres/etc they have a deep craving for in the way of Doctor/Master, incidentally, feel free to mention - I have everything from highly silly crack to really dark stuff sitting around, and don't mind at all what goes up in what order.)

This takes place in the happy little AU where the Master didn't die at the end of S3. Thanks to Tay for betaing and generally being supportive and lovely.

Chasing The Paradox - Epilogue: Each Other

Author: nemaline
Rating:
R overall; this chapter G
Disclaimer: Doctor Who and all related trademarks are the property of their respective owners, mostly the BBC.
Summary:
"When the Doctor stumbles into his own future, he takes the chance to find a way to co-exist with an old enemy. But such things are rarely easy, and always come with a price - particularly when the Master is involved."
Author's Notes: And so here we are, at the epilogue at last. What a ride it's been! First of all I want to thank all of you, very, very deeply - your comments have been absolutely wonderful, and I'm so glad that you enjoyed this crazy little product of my brain as much as I loved writing it, and proud to have had such a wonderful audience to share it with. I'd also like to thank again my friends who betaed this for me and gave me so much good criticism and encouragement while I was writing.

And so we come to the end. What next? Well, I don't have plans at the moment for any more long, chaptered fics - but I have plenty of one-shots that need finishing off and polishing up, and now I'm done with uni work and done with this story you should get to see some more of them. I also have plenty of little plotbunnies running around! I might like to do another random prompts post, and possibly an author's commentary for this fic, if anyone would be interested in either of them.

So, with another very, very big thank you to everyone, on with the epilogue.
